BMW Park Land will Be Fenced this Wednesday

Jakarta Provincial Government plans to fence part of BMW Park land to be transformed into a stadium. The fencing is conducted to maintain city government’s asset misappropriation by illegal cafe owners and homeless people. To tighten its security, the army, police, and Satpol PP personnel will be deployed to the location.

From the construction plan of the stadium as wide as 26.2 hectares, 12 hectares were certified in April 2014. The Financial Management Body (BPKD) has also installed dozens of signposts saying the land belongs to Jakarta Provincial Government with item code 09.05.03.02.4.00250/09.05.03.4.00251, addressed at Papanggo Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-DIstrict, in accordance to Usage Right No. 250/251 Year 2014.
North Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Tri Kurniadi, admitted that on Wednesday (5/21) the park will be fenced using concrete fence as high as three meters. “

The fence is concrete fence as wide as 12 hectares ,” he stated, Monday (5/19).Regarding the rest of the land that will be built as stadium and do not have certified for over 14 hectares, Kurniadi explained that it is currently under process in National Land Agency (BPN). As for the fact that there are still residents occupying the land, North Jakarta Administration and BPN on upcoming Wednesday will also assert the boundaries of certified land. “Together with TNI and the police, we guard the land every day. At least eight personnel guard every day,” he told.
Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Sports and Youth Department, Ratiyono, informed that since Saturday (5/17), heavy equipments have been sent to BMW Park. In addition, the construction banner also has been installed. “The equipments were already there since Saturday. Those equipments are currently flattening the land,” he uttered.
